Our motivation is: “Helping people to help themselves”.
Since 2011 we help women in need with various projects to create an income source of their own. The lack of education is one of the initial problems to tackle when it comes to young women and single mothers. In a first step we offer them training in sewing, computer skills and English as a foundation for further success. After this they have the opportunity to work in one of our handicraft projects.
The current product range of “Karmalaya Handicrafts” includes:
- creation of felt products
- upcycling of rice bags
- and production of organic tea
As demand increases, we are able to integrate more women into the women’s empowerment projects of Karmalaya.
