Volunteering

Since 2010 we are supporting social projects together with Karmalaya Foundation. Support means more than financial aid. Providing your precious time to work directly in the projects and with the locals can be one of the most rewarding experiences.

Every volunteer has the chance to choose the project fitting his personal interests and strengths, since we are currently working with around 20 different projects like child care centres, children’s home for orphan and blind kids, elderly homes, women empowerment centres, monasteries, and farming.

In addition to the authentic experience of living with host families, you will have the chance to join the locals in everyday work. Learning about their habits and about how they survive is an experience that makes most volunteers feel grateful and privileged.

For all volunteering activities we offer head over to www.karmalaya.com. There you will find the full details of the prorgams we offer.

Why homestay?

Get deep insights to Nepali culture and find a second home away from home. By living with Nepali families you not only get to experience a cozy and familiar atmosphere, but you also foster intercultural exchange and support a sustainable form of tourism. Our homestays are mostly combined with social projects, like children projects or organic farming.

«Your homestay may not be as luxurious as a fancy hotel, but instead you’ll have luxury for the heart.»

We provide cozy homestay experiences in the following locations:
